Make Your Plans to Attend Fall Family Weekend
The Ole Miss Family Association is thrilled to announce 2019 Fall Family Weekend! This event, which will take place during Homecoming, Oct. 4-5, provides such a special time on the Ole Miss campus for families to come see their students’ academic progress, new friends and excitement as Ole Miss Rebels!
Fall Family Weekend has grown over the years to include many activities for families and students to enjoy during their time in Oxford. Friday night will begin with a welcome reception and private viewing of the University of Mississippi Museum from 4-7:30 p.m., with a great view of the Homecoming Parade. Saturday begins with the Hotty Toddy Brunch, catered tent in the Grove and the opportunity to meet faculty and staff from across the university.
We all know a weekend in Oxford would not be complete without tailgating! The OMFA hosts the biggest tent in the Grove, where you can tailgate, eat and socialize before kickoff. Speaking of game time, members of the OMFA may purchase discounted football tickets for the Fall Family Weekend game.
If coming from out of town, we understand that lodging can be difficult to secure in Oxford. We recommend looking into accommodations in New Albany, Batesville or Tupelo. While these towns are not within the city limits, they are only a quick drive and typically have lowered rates during football season and specialty weekends such as Fall Family Weekend. Many families have also enjoyed renting a home or condo through VRBO or Airbnb.
Fall Family Weekend is an ever-growing tradition that the Ole Miss family values and cherishes. We are very excited about sharing this experience with you, your family and your student(s)! Registration and a tentative schedule are available at families.olemiss.edu.
Please also visit the Fall Family Weekend registration page at https://families.olemiss.edu/register-for-family-weekend/ to register yourself and any friends or family that plan on attending. Registration is $60 for adults and free for children under 12 and current UM students. Included in the registration fee are meals for the entire weekend, a catered tent in the Grove, guest presentations, private viewing of the UM Museum, a clear stadium bag for each family, T-shirts, OMFA Homecoming Parade dinner and a variety of other activities.
Members of the OMFA may now purchase up to six discounted football tickets for the game against ULM with a $20 discount per ticket. To join the Family Association to receive your discounts, visit https://families.olemiss.edu/join-the-family-association/. If your student has already purchased season tickets, you do not need to purchase a football ticket for him or her.
