Message from the Director
Greetings from Oxford,
November is upon us, and campus has begun its transition to winter. Once your student returns from Thanksgiving break, the calendar will move quickly into final exams as well as seasonal events such as Hotty Toddy Holidays, which will take place Nov. 28.
The Ole Miss Family Association staff and volunteers were thrilled to welcome over 1,000 parents and family members to campus during Fall Family Weekend. We hope you enjoyed spending time with your student and experiencing Homecoming at Ole Miss. The highly anticipated unveiling of the South Campus Recreation Center images was a treat! We hope learning about campus safety from UPD Chief Hawkins and Lt. Lewis helped put your worries at bay.
We will be releasing the Spring Family Weekend date in the December edition. Make sure you like the Ole Miss Family Association on Facebook to see pictures from the weekend!
Tremendous content is in this edition of the e-newsletter to help you and your student navigate the end of the semester successfully. Staff with the Luckyday Program has provided tips that you can share with your student on how to prepare for final exams. Another article outlines health services available to your student through the Student Health Center, including flu shots. We have also included information on how to prepare for your student returning home for an extended break.
As always, the OMFA is here to make sure you have the resources you need to support your student throughout college. If you have questions or need additional guidance, please do not hesitate to call me directly (662-915-5051), email the OMFA or visit our Facebook page. I look forward to hearing from all of you and continuing to stay in touch.
